In Alberta, while there is no provincial land transfer tax, there are still registration fees associated with property transactions. The Land Titles Office charges a base fee of $50, plus an additional $5 for every $5,000 of property value, for land transfer registration.
Similarly, mortgage registration fees also start at $50, with an additional $5 charged for every $5,000 of mortgage amount. It's important to note that these fees are non-refundable, and there are no rebates available in Alberta.
